Friendly Tapestry Card

I have been trying to be better at sending out cards to all my friends and loved ones, and just not at the holidays or their birthdays. I think it is so special to receive a special handmade card with a special note in it from a friend, instead of just an email!

So that is the purpose of this card. Not sure which friend I will send it to, but I have it all ready!

The base of this card is whisper white and then layered with a piece of chocolate chip cardstock. I stamped the weed image from the Organic Grace hostess set also in chocolate chip ink on it. (This hostess set will be retiring when the new catalog comes out and they will have lots more great hostess sets available!)

Next I stamped the flower image panel. I embossed the flower images with white embossing powder and then sponged on some bashful blue and close to cocoa ink over top of them. I then inked up the whole panel with my versamark ink and topped it off with a layer of clear embossing powder. It really is shiny and pretty in real life! I then layered it on top of a bashful blue piece before adhereing it to my card.

The greeting 'So Glad We're Friends', comes from the Hostess Set called Best Yet. It has the perfect sayings for lots of occasions, from Christmas to babies! Who doesn't love such a versatile set?

The saying is also clear embossed and also is in chocolate chip ink. I will explain that a little more. First I ink up my stamp with the versamark very well, and then directly ink it up again with my classic chocolate chip ink, and then stamp onto the white cardstcock. I then take my clear embossing powder and emboss it using my heat tool. It comes out very pretty and shiny! I love embossing! (You can also use this technique with the craft inks. Craft inks work very well with embossing, no need to use the versamark.)

Then I punched out the saying with my circle punch, and layered it onto my chocolate chip scallop circle punched out! Placed it onto the card using a popup dimensional.

I hope this inspires you to make a card to send to a friend that you haven't been in touch with in a while. Let those you love know that you love them!

Happy Stampin!
Jen
